Portable hard drive with finger print security.

If your on the move a lot, and if your carrying around with you information that you wouldn't want anyone to get their hands on. Then this little gadget could be what you’ve been looking for.

The finger print scanner on the top of the drive protects the contents of the hard drive. Once you connect the drive to your PC, you swipe your finger across it, this decrypts the data and you are now able to access whats on it. Once you disconnect the drive from the PC the data is instantly encrypted. Handy! So if you’re on the move, or just really paranoid that people are trying to steal everything you own, then you might want to put this on the Christmas list.

This is a new model from Seoul-based Sarotech, and is named the "Cutie Bio."

I want a fight!

I want a fight!! well I do if I have a suit made from the stuff in this video on SkyNews.

What a savage product. It's called D3o.  D3o technology is a specially engineered material with intelligent molecules that flow with you as you move but on shock lock together to absorb impact energy.

This is a video from YouTube but the skyNews one gives you a better idea of how a fight in gear made from this would be a laugh.

New Blackberry for me!

Last Wednesday I decided to treat myself to a new gadget. So one quick trip to the Vodafone shop and I walked away with the new Blackberry Curve.
I have to say it's savage, I love it. The phone I just replaced was the old Blackberry brick, the 7310v. The Curve is a lot lighter, and even though it has a full QWERTY keyboard its much smaller in the pocket. It also has a microSD card, so I can increase memory, plus a 2.0 megapixel digital camera. I sadly missed the camera option on my last phone. I remember when phones started putting camera's in them. I thought what a pointless thing to have on a phone, but I'm glad I have it back. Plus this camera is actually good and the flash is great as wellThe other cool extra feature the Curve has is the built in GPS. I gave it a go on Washington Street and it picked me up no problem, and as I walked along it was spot on, as I crossed the road and headed down Northmain St I could follow my progress on the phone. The GPS works with the onboard Blackberry Maps which is handy.

The other great app I downloaded  the other day was Viigo. It's a RSS reader. So I signed up to all the RSS feeds I like. Now when ever I'm waiting for a meeting or just killing time having coffee I can check up on all thats going on. It's proving really handy as I used to waste so much time when I turned on the laptop, and instead of working away I would be checking all the feed and before I knew it 1 hour would have passed. RSS is almost as bad as digg another site which eats time.

The Curve comes with all the other stuff, that if you have had a Blackerry that you would be used to, like IM messagers Email all that sort of stuff.

The best thing is that you get a CD in the box that has software to upgrade Blackberrys. So if you have a Blackberry and you get a new one it transfers over everthing. It was simple and fantastic, took about 10mins and I was back up and running. If your looking at a new phone and something to help run your life or maybe just a cool gadget go for the Blackberry Curve you won't be disappointed.

You can check out all the features of the phone here.

The Mouse that Kills Viruses!!

Just going though all the news before I head to work this Sunday when I came across this little gadet. It's A viruse killer mouse. Now it's not the Computer Viruses it kills, It's the human snotty ones it kills.  If I think of some of the people we have into AREA51  it sounds like a great idea to have these mice in the shop. The Germ Free Wireless Laser Mouse from Iogear has a special coating that its maker says will neutralize 99 percent of the microbes on its surface.

The outer shell of This viruse killing mouse is coated with tiny particles of titanium oxide and silver, and it uses a chemical reaction to battle bacteria and viruses. The titanium oxide attracts oxygen and water molecules, and when those are combined with light and the titanium oxide’s electrons, they give off free oxygen ion bases.(did you get that?? ) Iogear says these ions reduce or eliminate germs — and also create more carbon, oxygen and water particles to start the process all over again, making the mouse self-cleaning. Guess I will just have to take their word as I sucked at chemistry in school.

More information is available at www.iogear.com.

New Sony Walkman

Those of you who know me know I love the gadets. If it has buttons and is nice and shiny I'm sold!! Hell I even brought one of those stupid robots.  (what was I thinking)

Well a new toy that has caught my eye is the new Sony walkman. Called from what i can see; Walkman NW-S700F series. When will Sony learn something from Apple?

The new Sony Walkman NW-S700F series,(name just rolls off the tongue) is a sleek designed MP3 player. Looks like a small flashbang to me, but thats probably just from playing to many games.  It's equipped with Sony’s original clear audio technology that combines a noise-canceling function, as well as clear stereo and clear bass technologies. It also comes with professional grade 13.5φ EX headphones to boast clearer sound quality even in a noisy environment.

There is a direct encoding function that enables the Walkman to record analogue music from a source such as a CD player without a computer. All you have to do is connect the Walkman To the CD player with a cable or cradle. it can record and store the music in ATRAC or Linear PCM format.

The Walkman NW-S700F series (just love the name) Has a new colour OEL display which achieves brilliant top emission lighting without emitting any back-light to create a floating feel of the 3-line text display and beautiful cover art.

The walkman has a quick charge feature. With only 3 minutes of charging, it will give you up to 3 hours of non-stop music, When you fully charge it for 2 hours you will get a sexy 50 hours of playback.

It's going to come in 3 sizes. A 1GB NW-S703F is available in gold and black, the 2GB NW-S705F in violet and black and the 4GB NW-S706F in black.  It's also due to be released in November. Wonder what the price will be??? Might be worth selling the bot on ebay soon!
